Driving Assessments
Driving safely is good for everyone on the road. As we age or have more physical or cognitive deficits, driving a car can slowly become an issue of safety.
The Driving Assessment Includes:
- A physical examination of range of motion, strength, coordination, and a brief cognitive screen
- A gait (walking) examination including turns and balance
- Ability to enter/exit the vehicle independently.
- Ability to operate the vehicle controls
- An on road driving examination assessing the many aspects of safe driving
The Driving Assessment Can Be Used By:
- Physicians when deciding if a person is safe to drive
- A family member who has a concern about another family member's ability to safely drive
- An individual who is concerned about his/her own ability to safely drive
